The Difference Between a Potty Seat and a Potty Chair

The potty seat is another alternative for the potty training of the kids. Although the potty chair is most common of the potty training tools, potty seats can also be very effective in doing the same for the child. Some parent claim that the seats do a better job in instilling independence and spare them the added trouble of transitioning their child from the potty chair to the grownup potty bowl (toilet bowl). The truth is there are advantages and disadvantages in choosing a potty seat over the potty chair but these are all very minor. In the end it will all boil down to the preference and motivation of your child. Parents can only guide the way but could not decide on their own what could really work.

There are key differences of these two potty training tools. Potty chairs are stand alone potty “equipment”. It has its own seat, its own “bowl” or body structure wherein the child would sit in. It has its own disposal mechanism. This complete set can offer some level of comfort for the parent when they are travelling in the car and this can also be more sanitary in some cases because you do not have to find a public toilet for your child to poop in.

The potty seat however is only a reducer of the adult toilet bowl. It provides your child the platform to sit on without falling into the bowl. This is very portable because these can come in foldable variants. Most of it are cushioned and have a personal design that your child can easily identify with making his potty duty comfortable and safe. The potty seat can come with a stool for the child to use to access the bowl. What is great about it is that there is no clean up after the child is done. You just have to flush the toilet and go.
